What is the Tunnel to Towers Foundation?

Since 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. They are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and aiding the victims of major U.S. disasters.

  • Gold Star Family Home Program
The Gold Star Family Home Program, launched in September 2018, honors the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. The Foundation will provide a mortgage-free home to surviving spouses with young children.
  • Fallen First Responder Program
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to ensuring we never forget 9/11, the sacrifices made, and those that continue to be made by our first responders in the line of duty. Through the Fallen First Responder Home Program, Tunnel to Towers aims to pay off the mortgages of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty, or to 9/11 related illness, and leave behind young children. The Foundation’s goal is to ensure stability and security for these families facing sudden, tragic loss.
  • Smart Home Program
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation builds mortgage-free smart homes for our most catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Each home is designed to address the unique needs of each individual. Smart homes host a myriad of features such as automated doors and lighting, wider halls and doorways, special showers to accommodate wheelchairs, automatic door openers, cabinets, counters, and stove tops that can be raised and lowered, back-up generators, and central heating and air conditioning systems that can be controlled by tablets. These homes help our most severely injured veterans and first responders to reclaim their day-to-day independence.

Let Us Do Good Village: Land O' Lakes, FL

More than 100 families of fallen veterans and first responders will soon get a new mortgage-free home as part of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's new "Let Us Do Good" village, which broke ground December 2021.

Construction is underway on the first-of-its-kind neighborhood that'll be home to gold star families, families of first responders killed in the line of duty and catastrophically injured service members. It's all thanks to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which is an organization started in honor of Frank Siller's brother Stephen Siller – a New York City firefighter who gave his life on 9/11 trying to rescue people from the World Trade Center.

“We are going to build over 100 homes for our nation’s most catastrophically injured service members, Gold Star families, and Fallen First Responder families who leave behind young children,” said Tunnel to Towers Foundation CEO and Chairman Frank Siller. “These kids are going to be around other children that have faced the same tragedy in their lives. This village will be a safe haven for the people who are all going through the same thing in life who can come together.”

The neighborhood will include 110 homes as well as a community center with multiple amenities. The plot of land, which was donated anonymously, is located of Parkway Boulevard in Land O' Lakes.
