We™™ve had two service calls, both related to high noise levels during agitation. A new agitator install did not resolve the issue. We have contacted GE service to replace the transmission in the washer.

Very unhappy with ge and unit. Had for just over 2 year and there is a crack in the dryer drum already with normal use. I've had many dryer and never seen that before. No help from ge even though I've read many complaints online they say their ™engineers haven't hear that™

This washer/dryer works very well. It dries better than probably any other dryer I have had. It is however the loudest washer and dryer I have ever had. From day one of using it, the washer and dryer have both made extremely loud noises.

I purchased this washer-dryer combo from PC Richard & Son in December 2024. Unfortunately, in less than 1.5 years, it started having a major problem. Around May 2026, the washer drum would not spin and the water would not drain.
I contacted PC Richard & Son, but since the purchase was more than one year old, I was referred to GE for service.
GE then scheduled an appointment with Bodewell Appliance. I was charged approximately $130 just for the service visit. I was also uncomfortable with the technician™™s approach to collecting the payment.
After inspecting the appliance, the technician provided an estimate of approximately $735 for the repair. That is more than 60% of what I originally paid for the appliance, so I decided not to proceed with the repair.
Ultimately, I had to purchase a new washer-dryer combo for approximately $1,900, including installation and taxes.
It is disappointing for an appliance to require such a major repair in less than 1.5 years of use. The combination of the early failure, expensive repair estimate, and the overall service experience has left me very dissatisfied.
This experience makes me question the reliability and long-term value of today's appliances. I hope manufacturers and retailers will put more emphasis on product quality, durability, and customer service.

I love my washer dryer combo. The only problem is I was told after getting the surprise 29.00 fee i was assured it was going to be refunded and apologized that I was told by the delivery team of the haul away free .the fee has not been refunded like I was told .

Floating washer tub is very loud and wobbles so much that machine bangs against wall. A tech came out, leveled the machine a bit. Tech said this type of washer is pron to do this.

My wife and I went from an older GE front loader to this spacemaker and it has been game changing!! Our laundry room is pretty tight and with a little one on the way we needed to pick up some floor space for storage. I started shopping for stackable units and we agreed that this one was the best fit for us budget wise and size wise. The capacity of both the washer & dryer are perfect! We can wash all of our bedding at once rather than splitting it into separate loads. The machine seems to be very stable as well. We have had the washer & dryer pretty full and there is no shaking or wobbling when its running its spin cycle. The best washer & dryer we've ever had!

The machine is more than I expected. It's great
Service was lousey. The people who installed machine brought wrong filter. It needed a flexible filter. Then to find out Lowes does not connect the dryer vent. I went out of my way to go to Lowes and talk to them. The next gro comes out and t his is where I learned about Lowes does not hook up the vent. The gentlemen was nice to show me which one to buy from Amazon.
I felt like everyone was bullying me
My son who bought this for me does a lot of business with Lowes east coast

Worst dryer ever. Part missing inside the dryer that seals in the interior.
From day on I complained all my clothes had grease stains. the warranty said I had to have it serviced 3 times before they would do anything. So I did that. Then Kam appliance on Nantucket didn™™t send the service guy on time because you have to wait months for service™¦ even then they didn™™t have a service guy so they outsourced him.
This went over the warranty for GE even after sending photos of all my linens and clothing covered in grease stains after the dryer was serviced. - stupidly thinking it would work fine. More items were ruined. The hard part was when I wasn™™t at the house and the cleaners kept using the machine.
Anyways, I expected it to be serviced correctly and work. Kam appliance and GE did nothing to help the situation . Except bill me for a service.

Very few things I like about this stacked laundry unit. I like that it's stacked and doesn't take up much space. I like that it has the water sensor to fill tub per size of load washing. That's it.
There is no signal on washer or dryer to alert end of cycle. I missed that detail before purchasing. The agitation is very different than my Whirlpool and I don't feel like it cleans as well. I was"sold" on this one in store because of the sale price and great pitch from the associate.
If I could return it for a Whirlpool, I would!

The machine dryer door keeps banging my head when opened. It swings back once opened and if I bend to remove clothes from washer to dryer I hit my head on door if I don't hold the door opened. I am not pleased with this purchase. Bought at Lowe's.

This is a replacement for my old machine which was pretty much like the new one. I love these machines. BUT THE ONLY REASON I HAD TO REPLACE MY OLD ONE IS BECAUSE WE COULD NOT FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR THE KNOB THAT BROKE AND HAD TO USE PLYERS TO DO THE FUNCTION. NOT GOOD. Otherwise the machine is great or I would not have bought another one

The unit gets the job done well. The washing machine is incredibly noisy for a brand new model. It shakes and wobbles it makes sounds that alarm me to the point where I think something is breaking and have to check the load several times. This is a brand new machine. I would expect it to run silently and to not give me any trouble. But the overwhelming noise and movement that it makes while in progress of washing is something very concerning. I have no problems with the dryer.

Scheduled 2 service call regarding an issue with the spin cycle, "crashing" when running.
No matter the amount of clothes in the load or the placement of the washed clothes, the spin
cycle always goes unbalanced and crashes the tub into the washer sides.
The technician asks me to wash 4 towels, (which are the same weight) as a test. This is unrealistic.
This new design machine is poorly designed. Even the technician stated that the mechanics
of the tub were poor and its his number one service complaint.
GE has yet to address my complaint.

We had the same model before, washer stopped working so we went to the closest Big box store, had it delivered unfortunately installer did not check the dryer, the drum sounded as if it was ready to fall out. Called the 800 to get a replacement , customer service somewhat helpful, after listening to their mandatory spiel she finally agreed to replace it. Four days later it was replaced. Any negative thoughts are in no way reflection on the installers.

If you like your 2 month old washer and dryer tore apart because bodwell already having to change the transmission because of a gear oil smell since it was new, and the agitator won't come off so they have to bust it off and order a new agitator that is over a week out! And now it is sitting here tore apart, I guess the smart thing to do would of tried taking the agitator off before taking it all apart! Now it's laundromat time for over a week! Do yourself a favor and headache and don't buy anything with GE on it!!

Really like the oversized doors where I can reach inside the washing machine and dryer very good at cleaning and getting out all the detergent. The dryer is very fast acting. Also, a very quiet running machine does not vibrate my whole house when it™™s spinning.

We purchased this machine over a year ago. About 6 months in I noticed dry spots on our clothes when I took them out of the washer. I called GE and a repairman was sent out. He changed a couple of parts. Again there were dry spots on the clothes after going through the wash cycle. Another repairman came out and changed another part. They told me to use the bulky setting and use the deep rinse. There were fewer dry spots, but there were still dry spots(not sure how there could be dry spots after 2 submersions, but there were!) I didn™™t like the fact that I couldn™™t use any setting to clean the clothes so we called again and after 2 more trips to our house and time off of work to be there for the repairman, they decided to replace the unit. We really just wanted some money towards a completely different washer and dryer, but they only offered to replace with the same unit. We took the offer and the new unit washes exactly like the old one- leaves dry spots on the clothes. I DO NOT recommend this unit. GE, please find a way to agitate the clothes better and improve your machine!

The dryer is fine but the washer has been causing problems since the beginning.
* LOUD. Very loud spin cycle.
* Ozone/burning smell after a single cycle.
* Door lock doesn't work properly after a cycle (have to "reboot").
* Loud banging for loads even when small and balanced.
* Occasional clanking noises and scraping noises.
* Sometimes stops in the middle of a cycle and won't drain.
I contacted the repair company and they said that the unit seemed normal to them. Which is concerning on a number of levels. Either way, the visit was not covered so I had to pay out of pocket.

If you like the smell of gear oil every time you do laundry this machine is for you! I have been doing laundry for years and years, You should be happy when you buy a new appliance not have to spend money on washer tub cleaner for a brand new machine! This machine does not have a designated washer cleaner cycle. And one of the front leveling legs is broke and the machine has to be constantly releveld with the rear self leveling legs after doing a load of laundry. A person should be happy when you get a new appliance not a a bunch of extra add work money and frustration!

Buyer beware I bought this washer and dryer back in October and it broke after one load. Their warranty department is absolutely the worst. I have had 8 service calls and the dryer is still not fixed. They keep telling me that is an another part and another part. I always speak to another person which they don't try anything. I will never buy a ge product again.

Noisy. Loud. Clunky. Disturbingly loud. Really bad mechanical design. This expensive object should quietly hum. Instead it whinges, whines, screams, and grinds its clunky work actions even the neighbours can hear.
Bad purchase decision. I'd assumed replacing it's 16 year old predecessor with the similar modern thing made sense --wrong!

All in all we have no complaints with the new laundry center. Unfortunately my husband keeps banging his head taking the laundry out of the washer. The capacity for both the washer and dryer is awesome. We bought a light to use to make sure all laundry is taken out as the area is dark.

Love how it is so compact, yet when I opened the lids, I found very large baskets to accommodate blankets, etcetera. Not used to such fast spin; wrinkles clothes, so now use gentle cycle. Works great! Very pleased!

This product was just installed yesterday. I really haven't had any functioning experience with it yet. It appears to be well-made, well-designed, and conventient to use. My only "issue" has to do with the measurements/dimensions. The "alcove" in my apartment is NOT large enough to house this model. The published dimensions are correct...BUT do not take into account the space needed in the rear of the unit (ie. the vent hose and the 220V box). That adds about 4" to the actual depth of this model, and that is far too big for me. Nonetheless, I will keep the unit and just ignore the fact that I can not close the door to the "alcove" area. But other customers should be aware of this problem.
